Shuto 10s tournament

Hi team,
After some good performance at the Gaijin 10s tournament, let’s do it again at the Shuto 10s.
The tournament runs on the whole day, with 5 games in the first pool, then knock out games.

Meeting is at 8h30 at JR Shin-Urayasu Station 新浦安駅 on the JR Keiyou Line 京葉線

Meeting is early, I know, but everyone should be at the pitch at 9h15, so shou ga nai.
Important: bring some sun protection, since we are staying on the sun the whole day, and also coolers for ice and beers.

Results on the gaijin 10s tournament

Hi everyone,
quite a rainy day today but we did well in the gaijin 10s tournament.
With three cancelations on Saturday, we were only 11 people showing up at the field, including Simon who had to ref 2 more games. Games were 2 halves of 10 min so everybody got a good run. Here are the results:
- AFRC beat Gaijin southern hemisphere 3 tries to 1
- AFRC lost vs Cru 1 try to 0
- AFRC lost vs Gaijin Northern hemisphere 4 tries to 1
Cru won the tournament, winning all their games. Gaijin South and North came 2nd ex aequo and AFRC 4rth because we got 4 tries in the last game.

2 things:
- training does matter, we really improved compare to 2 months ago, let s keep on like this.
- everybody was tired for the last game because there was no substitutes basically. Attendance and recruiting are the 2 pilars for our next wins.

Next week is the Shuto 10s, this is the last event before vacation, we have the skills to do something so I would like to see a big turnout.

28th of June- 10s tournament vs Gaijin and Cru

Hi team,
Tokyo Gaijin organized a friendly 10s tournament this week end: 4 teams are involved, Gaijin 1 and 2, Cru and AFRC. It’s time to put in practice what we trained for.

Meeting is at 09:30 at JR Hodogaya Station JR　保土ヶ谷駅, 1 stop south of Yokohama. You can leave from Shinjuku at 08:44 on the Shonan Shinjuku Line.

It’s a 10s game, so only 10 people on the field (no 3rd row, no wings), 10 min halves, free substitution, lots of running so I need at least 15,16 fit guys for this. It would be a good preparation for the Shuto 10s next week end.

Music Festival at the French Institute this Sunday 21th

Hi boys,
a little short notice but if you are free this Sunday the 21th, the French Institute is organizing the “Fete de la Musique” = Music Fiesta = 音楽祭り and an AFRC reprensentation would be appreciated.
What you need to do:
- arrive at 11 am to put some tables together
- from 12am to 8 pm: serve some drinks and food for the guests and also for yourself (especially for yourself), talk to the ladies and listen to music.
The idea is to get some people to join AFRC, show that we are here (if possible, wear a jersey), and maybe get some money for the club while drinking for free.

You don’t have to stay for the entire set. I have 1 or 2 person ready to go, a small crew of five would be perfect.

AFRC program until September

Hi all,
good game last Sunday, we showed some aggressivity but took a lot of tries on counter attacks or 3rd attacks. This needs to be worked at the training, but only if some people are actually coming. Last week, there were only 6 people, let’s be there tonight http://strug.d2.r-cms.jp/location_detail/id=1 , if the skies allow us.
Here is the program until sept:
- 28 of June: friendly 10s tournament vs 2 Gaijins teams and Cru
- 5th of July: Shuto 10s tournament
- 12th of July: France national day: I would need a squad to make and sell some food/drinks at the party
- break (trainings are still running)
- beginning of Sept.: start of the Shuto League, THE competition for AFRC.

AFRC June/July Calendar

here is the June/July Calendar so far for AFRC:

- 7th of June (sun) rematch vs Metro ( to be confirmed)
- 14th of June (sun) rematch vs Acorn
- 28th of June (sun) friendly 10s tournament vs Gaijin and others
- 5th of July (sun) Peugeot Shuto 10s tournament

In addition to this, Sugadaira tournament is held on the 11-12th of July, I don t think that AFRC will have enough people to join but some other teams (Jacks, Gaijins) might need you if you are OK. I will send the mail for Gaijins later.

Sun 24th May, change of plans – AFRC vs Jacks – meeting 10h15 Shin-Shibamata Station

Hi team,
well, construction league was not really a league this year. Yesterday, Tokyo Metro said they could not play against us, but your dear leader anticipated it and contacted the Shinjuku Jacks on Monday.
So, NO MORE GAME IN MISATO. Instead, a friendly game vs Jacks, KO at 12h00.

Meeting: 10h15 at Shin Shibamata Station 新柴又駅 on the Asakusa/Hokuso Line (same line)

The Hokuso Line is prolonging the Asakusa Line. You can always find your route with Jorudan http://www.jorudan.co.jp/english/norikae/e-norikeyin.html

If no mail, I consider that everybody who already replied to me is OK even after this change.

AFRC vs Tokyo Metro – KO 16h, Sun 24th of May

Hi everyone,
a little frustrated after 2 games canceled at the last minute, I understand everybody is ready to play and aggressive about games; the improved trainings are here to demonstrate.
So hopefully, we get a game vs Tokyo Metro this week end.

Meeting is at JR Misato Station 三郷駅 at 14h00.

You can go there by many ways, by Akihabara, by the Chiyoda Line, by the JR Musashino Line. Go there http://www.jorudan.co.jp/english/ and find your appropriate path, but be careful, it is pretty far.

Game vs Acorn canceled

Sorry guys but we could not find a replacement team in such short notice. I hope to reschedule the game in june.
